Thousands of people have enjoyed the spectacle of motorbikes and Mods and scooters in Margate over the Whitsun bank holiday weekend.

The annual Mod weekender, organised by Great British Music & Culture (GMBC), kicked off on Friday with music and outdoor entertainment throughout the weekend. Mods from across the country, including the isle, made the trip for the festival hosted by Olby’s and The Dug Out.

It was followed by Margate Meltdown today (May 28) – the annual motorbike ride out from Ace Cafe in London to Margate.

The Meltdown is the most established event of the Ace Café, as thousands of riders make the pilgrimage to park up and hang out at the Harbour Arm and along the Piazza.

This year was extra special as it was the cafés 80th birthday.
