Couple to marry at Margate Soul Festival invite revellers to join record-breaking wedding photo

Hannah-Jane Denham and Darcy Harrison will get hitched at the Margate Soul Festival

A couple who met at Margate Soul Festival two years ago are to get married at this year’s event – and are inviting revellers to be part of a record-breaking wedding photo.

Hannah-Jane Denham and Darcy Harrison met across a crowded dance at the festival in 2016. It was love at first sight and Darcy proposed just nine months later. The couple celebrated their engagement at the 2017 soul festival after Darcy popped the question while they were on holiday in Slovenia. so getting hitched at this year’s event seemed to be the obvious choice.

Hannah said: “We didn’t want a traditional, stressful, formal wedding. We both wanted it to be a relaxing celebration we could share with people we care about and we wanted our love of the music that brought us together to be central to this. It’s not been easy but Mi-Soul and the festival have waved their magic wand!”

The Sands Hotel, central to the festival, will host these unique nuptials and wedding reception on Saturday, August 4, with Mi-Soul Radio’s owner, Gordon Ma,c playing their first dance.

The wedding party will join the main festival later on, to dance the night away.

They also plan to pick up the first Guinness World Record for the largest wedding photo ever taken, by asking festival-goers to meet on the steps of Margate’s seafront at 4pm on the big day for that all-important picture.

The couple are planning a honeymoon in the Autumn which will include paragliding in Spain!
