Man remanded on charges including attempted rape and GBH following Roman Road ‘attack’

A man has been remanded charged with a catalogue of offences, including attempted rape and sexual assault, following an incident in Roman Road, Ramsgate.

Emergency services were called to the road after a car crashed through a fence and into a garden and two women were reported to have suffered stab wounds at around 6.30am on December 27.

Kevin Jones, 29, of Ramsgate, has been charged with attempted rape, two sexual assaults, two counts of GBH, two assaults, aggravated vehicle taking, driving dangerously and possessing an offensive weapon in a public place.

He appeared at Canterbury Magistrates’ Court via video link on Saturday 30 December and has been remanded in custody to appear at Canterbury Crown Court on Friday 26 January.
