A look inside The Gym at Westwood ahead of the official opening

The Gym at Westwood officially opens on December 18

The Gym at Westwood  will be opened by Mayor of Ramsgate, Cllr Trevor Shonk, on Monday, December 18 at noon – but we have taken a look around ahead of the official opening.

The new gym in Holmes Way, will have areas for cardio, strength, toning and low impact workouts.

Benefits include 24 hour access to a wealth of new equipment in a state of the art gym. Prices start from £12.99 a month, with no commitment to a contract.

The Gym advises customers to buy a padlock for their locker which can be bought from vending machines for £5.

Sweat towels can also be bought from vending machines for £3.50.

There are communal and private area showers and changing rooms, a water fountain, food and drink vending machines.

The site is open 24/7 and has CCTV and emergency buttons.

Entry is gained using an 8 digit pin that is allocated on confirmation of membership.

Membership includes three free personal trainer sessions with the opportunity to pay for the following 9 weeks after that.

The Gym has 11 trainers and is aiming to employ one more.

General manager Matt Finch said: “We’re really excited to be bringing The Gym Group’s award-winning gym offering to Thanet and welcoming new members through the doors in December.

“We’re looking forward to supporting the local community and helping people reach their fitness goals. Our personal trainers will be on the gym floor to provide tours, inductions and providing a helping hand to our new members.

“There’s also a fantastic range of free classes for members to enjoy which is all included in the low monthly price. There really is no excuse not to join and get in shape with our team of friendly fitness experts.”
