Multiple charges have been secured by police officers in Ramsgate as part of a clampdown on antisocial behaviour and drugs-related crime.
Between mid October and early November 2025, ten charges were brought against three people in relation to breaches of a Community Protection Notice (CPN). A further suspect was charged during the same period in connection with drug dealing in the town.
It is reported that two suspects entered an area of the town from which they were excluded, under the terms of two CPNs issued on 10 September. The restrictions were put in place following nuisance behaviour that included shouting, swearing and playing music loudly in public.
Amanda Francis, 37, and Anthony Manning, 45, were charged on 17 October with a total of five offences. Mr Manning and Ms Francis, of no fixed address, were bailed to appear before Margate Magistrates’ Court yesterday (Thursday 13 November).
Scott Davenport, 48, was also made the subject of a CPN following repeated incidents of drunken behaviour and loitering in an area that he was required to leave. The CPN restricted him from possessing open containers of alcohol and drinking alcohol in public places.
Mr Davenport, of no fixed address, was charged on 4 November after allegedly breaching the terms of the CPN on five occasions in September and October. He was bailed to appear before Margate magistrates on 28 November.
Proactive work by neighbourhood officers further resulted in a suspected drug dealer being charged.
On Saturday 1 November, patrols in Albion Place had become aware of suspicious behaviour linked to car and signalled for the driver to stop. The driver was detained.
A search was carried out and several deals of suspected crack cocaine were recovered, along with a quantity of cash and a mobile phone.
The following day, Krisian Salaj, from Costa Street in Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire, was charged with possession with intent to supply a class A drug and two driving offences.
Mr Salaj, 29, appeared before Margate magistrates on Monday 3 November and was remanded to appear before Canterbury Crown Court on Monday 1 December.

“Community Protection Notices are a vital tool in protecting against nuisance and disorder, and where it is suspected that breaches may have occurred, we will take action, while proactively working to remove drugs from our streets to ensure a safer environment for all.”

Serving closure notices on the property used for dealing, supplying or storing Class A drugs is a powerful weapon but doesn’t seem to be used that much here. Magistrates or judges have to decide within 14 days so no scope for deferring or kicking the can down the road!
