Kent Fire & Rescue Service is warning people living or travelling in Valley Road, Margate, to keep doors and windows closed due to smoke from a field fire.
Crews were called to the scene at 3.36pm today (September 7).
Five fire engines and a specialist wildfire vehicle are attending the scene, and crews are working to extinguish the fire.

People living or travelling near Valley Road in Margate are no longer being advised to close windows and doors, following a field fire.
Four fire engines remain at the scene, and crews have made good progress extinguishing the fire and tackling hot spots. Crews also worked with a farmer to create a fire break using a tractor.
No injuries have been reported.

Firefighting operations are now complete at a field fire on Valley Road in Margate.
Five fire engines, an all-terrain vehicle and a specialist wildfire vehicle attended. Crews used hose reel jets, fire beaters and other specialist wildfire equipment to extinguish the flames.

It’s believed the fire started after material from a bonfire blew onto the nearby field.
