The team behind the revival of Margate’s Winter Gardens will be hosting a Summer Weekender on Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 August.
The event will be held on the green at the top of the Winter Gardens, off Fort Promenade, and is free entry all weekend.
Saturday, from 12 noon, is all about outdoor summer vibes: a full day of live music, DJs Josh Ward, Jason Richardson and Tasty Sax, with pop-up bars and food. Music closes at 9.30pm.
Sunday, from 11am, shifts gears into a free family fun day, packed with things for all ages to get stuck into – workshops including kids’ martial arts and family yoga, giant bubbles, balloon modelling, puppets, storytelling, party games and prizes, plus performances from Social Singing Choir and Regency Performing Arts. Live music ends at 9pm.
All the entertainment is free, with food and drink available to buy across both days. Unlimited inflatables are also available on the Sunday via a paid-for wristband.
Residents are invited to come down, soak up the atmosphere and meet Westwood One, the team behind the new Winter Gardens.
Westwood One Theatre – also operator of the Granville Theatre in Ramsgate and Under 1 Roof nurseries- is headed by Ramsgate sisters Zahra and Parisa Tarjomani and Pyramid Martial Arts & Just Kids Parties owner Matt Milchard. They also have former Winter Gardens manager Paul Palmer on-board.
Can they update everyone with how the structural repairs are going since they took over the site? It would be nice to know how the public money is being spent. It’s good to be transparent isn’t it?
