Broadstairs Folk Week is well underway with events running until 14 August, with more than 400 events in over 20 venues – and around 160 of them are free.
Pubs, church halls, the clifftop Pavilion and the bandstand all take part, with everything from ukulele playing and maypole dancing to late‑night roof‑raisers and quiet, unplugged sets.
Around 250 volunteers help run the week, which brings an estimated £9.1 million into the local economy each year, supporting pubs, cafés, accommodation, traders and shops across Thanet.
Families can head to Hobby Horse Club each morning to meet Clarence the Dragon and the hooden horses, with inclusive music‑making led by Inspiration Creative’s Zoe, Peter and Evie and live music from band‑in‑residence Giddy Up, while the Marsh Family and award‑winning Gentle Ceilidh with Krista & the Woodurchins keep all ages moving.
The Craft and Music Fair is held at Victoria Gardens, by the bandstand, and will be open daily until Friday 14th August, 10am- 8.30pm.

From what I hear it was disgusting men walking around in horse outfits kissing and whipping each other inappropriate outfits with next to nothing on needs banning them poor children that had to witness it, as for the idiots waving folk week flags go out there with your parade and see how you get on

I totally agree my daughter came to mine my grandson was distraught he only 3 even my daughter was distraught and disgusted with them and we both love pride but again this year was worse than last year there is no need to dress inappropriate that’s for bedroom and only bedroom or in gay clubs where no kids are presenting mortified it’s upset my daughter and my grandson if someone was flashing in the streets they would be arrested I see no difference in what they doing they should be arrested for indecent exposure because I’ve heard from a few you could see all their body bits

it appears my here work is done , there are many more people are now aware of the sordid goings on in thanet , in the name of ” pride ” whatever that is ? , and also the very strange pagan behaviour going on in broadstairs of a very mixed bunch of weird folk and the morris dancers , whom i will never understand , as long as i have a hole in my bottom , well done to the brave people who speak out about these odd gatherings of misfits.
