This month there is free bus travel for all children aged 15 and under on participating bus services across Kent, including Stagecoach.
Until 31 August, families will be able to save on the cost of travel as part of the government’s Great British Summer Savings scheme, which is taking place across the England to help people enjoy days out for less.
For youngsters aged 5 to 15, when you board, simply ask the driver for a free child ticket. Let the driver know where you’re travelling to, and they’ll issue the ticket for you. A ticket must still be issued for every child travelling. Children under 5 travel free all year round.
Stagecoach also has £2 adult single fares on the Thanet Loop every weekend and on the August Bank Holiday.
Hop between Thanet’s three seaside towns, explore the coast and enjoy more for less this summer.
How to get the £2 fare: Simply ask the driver for a £2 Adult Single when boarding. Available to buy onboard only.
Short-hop journeys will continue to be available for £1.90 where applicable.
The Thanet Loop connects Margate, Broadstairs and Ramsgate.
The special fares are available thanks to funding from Kent County Council using the Department for Transport Bus Grant Funding provided by Government.
The £2 bus fare cap announced by government last month comes into effect in January 2027.
Does this include the 69 service?
It should be for over 60s too, just like in London, Scotland and Wales.
