A popular Ramsgate business serving up ‘traditional’ food at affordable prices has closed due to ill health and family needs.
Cheyenne and Alex Jones opened Buddies Bistro in Chatham Street in April last year and say it has been successful but the impact on Alex’s health and the needs of their youngest child, aged five, means they have made the sad decision to close.
Cheyenne and Alex, who have nine children between them aged from five to 26, are now looking to sell the business on.
Cheyenne, who had previously worked in the care industry, said: “The whole experience has been amazing and it’s been a pleasure meeting all our customers but it’s impacted on my husband’s health a lot and our youngest son is only five and we were missing so much time with him.
“We are trading in our dream of owning our business for the privilege of spending more time together as a family. Maybe when our little one is older we will start another business, time will tell.”
The duo had bought the former CCCP restaurant site from Ramsay Taralis.
A First Gazette notice for strike-off issued in April is due to the business changing over from a limited company to sole trader status.
