Montreal’s La Sécurité five-piece band is heading to Margate’s WhereElse on Thursday 23 July.
Hot on the heels of their critically acclaimed sophomore album Bingo! due to be released on 12 June, the band will bring their signature brand of subversive, danceable pop to stages across the UK.
Having performed at SXSW (among NPR’s Best of SXSW 2025), End of the Road, The Great Escape, and Reeperbahn, and toured alongside The Go! Team and The Rapture, La Sécurité arrive in Margate with serious momentum behind them.
The band, consisting of vocalist Éliane Viens-Synnott, guitarists Melissa Di Menna and Laurence-Anne Charest-Gagné, bassist Félix Bélisle and Kenny Smith, was launched in 2020 as a side project during the COVID-19 lockdowns, when the members could not play in their primary bands.
WhereElse is a grassroots music venue and community art space in Margate, founded in 2018 as a bar, community café and live music space.
It has hosted early shows from the likes of Wet Leg, Squid, Black Country New Road, Yard Act and Porridge Radio — many of which have gone on to headline festivals and sell out larger venues..
