A Ramsgate teacher will tackle the Race for Life next month in memory of her nans.
Royal Harbour Academy teacher Molly Stillman hopes to raise funds for Cancer Research by completing the 5K challenge in Herne Bay.
The 32-year-old, who lives in Ramsgate with her partner, said: “I want to do it to raise awareness of cancer and in memory of my Nanny Audrey and Nanny Kitty Stillman.
“My friend Jaz runs so I thought I would try it. I have been running twice a week, short runs building up to the 5k. I’ve also been going to the gym for the past year.”
The Race for Life raises funds for pioneering research to prevent, diagnose, and treat cancer. It is Cancer Research UK’s biggest series of fundraising events.
Taking place across the UK, the events include 5k and 10k routes for participants to walk, jog or run, as well as Pretty Muddy obstacle events.
The Herne Bay event starts and finishes in Hampton Pier Recreation Ground on June 21.
