A woman suffered injuries, described as serious but not life threatening, after being involved in a collision with a car in Margate on Saturday (February 14).
Police and paramedics were called to the collision in Marine Drive at 6.31pm and the road was closed for almost two hours while crews were in attendance.
The woman was treated at the scene and then taken to a local hospital for further care.
A Kent Police spokesperson said: “Kent Police was called at 6.31pm on Saturday 14 February to a collision involving a car and a pedestrian in Marine Drive, Margate.
“Officers and paramedics attended the scene where a woman was treated for injuries. She was taken to a local hospital for further medical attention.
“The road was closed while emergency services responded to the incident and reopened at 8.15pm.”
I hope the lady recovers soon and makes a substantial claim against the drivers insurance, if the driver is found to be at fault by the police.
It appears from the picture that she was on a pedestrian crossing. That could be bad news for the driver, especially in a 20mph zone.
“Collision”? What a odd choice of word.
The driver hit the pedestrian.
They don’t like the term ”accident” – they believe that implies that no one was really at fault.
