Ramsgate RNLI launched this morning (February 15) after a body was sadly found in the inner marina.
The crew launched the Y boat at 10.10am to assist with the retrieval of the body of a man in his 60s.
Police and ambulance staff were also called to the scene. Ramsgate’s RNLI crew stood down while police assessed the scene and they then recovered the body.
It is understood the inshore lifeboat has stood down a search for a second person until the information can be verified.
Kent Police confirmed that next of kin have been informed.
A spokesman said: “Kent Police was called at 10.04am on Sunday 15 February to Military Road, Ramsgate where the body of a man in his 60s was recovered from the water. The man’s next of kin has been informed.
“The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be prepared for the coroner.”
