East Kent teen band aKadem release their second single this month via Rezzonator Music.
The band – made up of Brooke (Faversham) on vocals, Ethan (Faversham) lead guitar, Beth (Canterbury) bass guitar, Rhythm Guitarist Zac (Ramsgate) and drummer Aston (Ramsgate) – were spotted by veteran producer Mike McEvoy, of Rezzonator Music, in 2024 and released debut Hurrican last September.
Now the indie-rock five-piece return with their explosive second single, ‘Corrupted’, released digitally on Friday 30 January.
‘Corrupted’ is the first release taken from the band’s intensive three-day recording session at Wincraft Studios, the legendary studio founded by Steve Winwood in the Cotswolds.
The track was produced by Mike McEvoy, who previously played in Winwood’s Traffic during their 1994 reformation tour. Mike has also worked with artists including Sting, Melissa Etheridge, Ian Dury, Scritti Pollitti, and Orange Juice to name but a few.
With hi-voltage, ‘Corrupted’, aKadem take a decisive step forward, becoming bigger, bolder, and more assured.
Recently spotted by BBC DJ, Casey Dale, aKadem landed their First Play on BBC Introducing Kent’s Tips for 2026 radio show.
To mark the release of ‘Corrupted’, aKadem have been invited back to perform on 30 January at Dublin Castle in Camden Town— a venue synonymous with breakthrough moments in British guitar music — aligning the single’s launch with a high-profile live return.

The band members, all aged 19, draw on a broad palette of influences from the modern punch of Foo Fighters and Lola Young, through to the sharper edge of Blur and Fontaines D.C., and the timeless electricity of Jimi Hendrix.
