Westgate based calligraphy artist Ami Taylor has been announced as a South East regional winner at The Wedding Industry Awards 2026.
The Wedding Industry Award South East winners were announced at a ceremony at the Felbridge Gatwick Hotel & Spa in East Grinstead, West Sussex. Ami scooped the top place in the stationery category.
Ami, who works under the business name of Signed.Ami, said: “It was such a surprise to be nominated and then to go on to win in such a huge region, which includes London, is simply amazing!
“I’m blown away by the votes and comments from the couples I have worked with over the last year locally. This is only my third year creating wedding signage and I can’t wait to see what the future holds.”
The mum-of-two learned calligraphy four years ago while pregnant with her youngest child.
She said: “I have built the business working evenings and weekends, around the demands of family life with high support needs neurodivergent children. In between weddings I also create chalkboard signage for local businesses, paint seasonal window displays and teach calligraphy workshops.”
Some 26,747 votes were cast for 1,300 entrants and 1000 wedding businesses became TWIA regional finalists.
The UK wedding industry is worth an estimated £15 billion annually.
Ami and the other regional winners will now go through to the National Final in Liverpool in January 2026.
