Pupils at Priory Infant School have been collecting food donations since the middle of October and, with the help and organisation of the student council, it has been a brilliant success.
Selected Student Council members have now delivered the food to the Salvation Army in Ramsgate, where they then organised, packaged and stored food parcels for those in need.
The children made family sized parcels as well as individual ones and asked thoughtful questions to Corps Leader Carl Whitewood in order to gain an understanding of why these parcels are needed.
Wellbeing Mentor and Mental Health Lead Mr. Martin was incredibly proud of the children, saying: “It was absolutely lovely to see the children engaged in supporting the community with such grace and enthusiasm. I really could not be prouder of the Student Council and everyone involved with donations. We hope to do this every year and help those in need around us.”
The children are excited to participate in more community projects in the future.
