A man in his 30s has been arrested after a police officer was assaulted while responding to a reported burglary in Ramsgate.
Kent Police was called just at 00.15am on Sunday 19 October, to a report of a burglary at a business in King Street, Ramsgate.
While attending one officer was assaulted and needed hospital treatment for their injuries. They have since been discharged.
A man has been arrested on suspicion of burglary and assault on an emergency worker.
A Kent Police spokesperson said: “Patrols attended the scene where one officer was assaulted and taken to hospital for treatment to their injuries. They have since been discharged.
“A man in his 30s has since been arrested on suspicion of burglary and assault on an emergency worker.
“Officers remain at the scene and an investigation is ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.”

Peter, we have been told Ramsgate is quite safe. i live in Ramsgate but the posh part. Yes there is a posh part believe it or not!
Ramsgate reminds me of growing in up in Dulwich and Peckham in the ’70s: we lived somewhere in the between it all, but in one direction was a no-go zone known for its mugging and stabbings, and in the other direction was a classy and expensive area where Margaret Thatcher lived!
