The newest Reception children at Monkton Church of England Primary School have made a fantastic start to their school journey, quickly settling into life in the classroom and forming strong friendships through play and learning.
The children have embraced every opportunity with enthusiasm, whether it’s engaging in imaginative role play, sharing stories, or enjoying outdoor games. There’s been a clear sense of joy and togetherness as they explore their new environment and get to know one another.
Teachers have been delighted with how confidently the children have adapted to school life.
Mrs Bax, the school’s Reception Lead, said: “There were a few nerves on the first day, as you’d expect, but the transition events we held before the summer holidays made a real difference. Parents have also done a brilliant job preparing their children and talking to them about what to expect at school.”
With the early weeks going so well, the children now have lots to look forward to throughout the year. Planned events include cake sales, exciting theatre trips, and a sponsored colour run that will see pupils and their parents taking part together in a fun-filled day of activity and community spirit.
