Kent Police officers are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage following a crash in Margate yesterday (August 5) where a motorcyclist was seriously injured.
Shortly before 4pm, emergency services were called to Westbrook Avenue to the collision between a white Skoda Yeti and a black and silver Aprilia motorcycle.
Ambulance crews assessed and treated the motorcyclist at the scene for injuries before being joined by The Air Ambulance Charity, Kent Surrey Sussex.
The motorcyclist, a man in his 50s, was then flown to King’s College hospital in London where he remains in a serious condition.
Officers would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or saw either vehicle shortly beforehand.
Anyone who may have dashcam or private CCTV footage taken in the area at the time of the incident should also come forward.

Why does the NHS depend on a charity, the Air Ambulance?
Because the government doesn’t fund helicopters for it. Like the RNLI isn’t government-funded. Crazy but true. The NHS relies on huge amounts of volunteers to run all kinds of services. I used to give up my Sunday mornings to support new mums who were struggling to breastfeed at QEQM. Many services from the blood bank to chaplaincy, to cafes and shops, expensive equipment and more and fundraised for, and delivered by volunteers. It’s a fantastic system, which means NHS funds can be spent elsewhere, whilst others give back to society. The NHS is wonderful and we’re very lucky to have it. It’s great we have people willing to help to keep it running.
Staying independent allows much of the red tape that restricts what they can and can’t do to be forgotten. Most of the funds can be directed towards the mission rather than swallowed up in taxes and big political wastes.
