A heartbreaking update has been made to a fundraiser for a Minster dad-of-four diagnosed with stage four bowel cancer which spread to his liver.
Kyle Ingram-Baldwin was hoping funds would help him seek private treatment, possibly abroad, but tragically his wife Becky posted to the donation page today (June 17) to say Kyle passed away yesterday.
The 40-year-old had been diagnosed on October 25 last year after going to A&E with suspected gallstones but was told he had bowel cancer that had spread to the liver and would be life limiting.
After sharing his situation on The Isle of Thanet News, there was a swell of support and donations from those wanting to help him.
But sadly today Becky said: “Unfortunately Kyle took a very sudden and unexpected turn and we lost him yesterday.
“He was the most incredible man I have ever met and I know he would want me to thank everyone for all your sharing and donations.”
Kyle, who worked for a national vending wholesaler, started Folfiri chemotherapy – which uses a combination of three drugs – in December but after six cycles a scan showed further progression of the cancer in his liver.
He had been due to start another chemotherapy regime shortly.
Kyle, who ran Project Talking Football in Minster, and wife Becky had hoped to gain private care and treatments such as TACE – which specifically targets chemo at the liver – which is available in Germany.
Becky had told people that donations will be refunded but many wanted the family to retain the money, particularly for Kyle’s four children aged 12, nine, three and 15 months.
She added: “I’m so grateful for the incredible outpouring of love for Kyle.”
I just wanted to express my deepest condolences to the family and friends. Kyle and I were good friends back and college and shared many memories and gigs together.
