The Great Bucket and Spade Run took place today (June 1) with dozens of classic and unusual vehicles on display at Ramsgate’s Government Acre.
Organised by The Ramsgate Old Motor and Motorcycle Club (ROMMCC), the event showcases vehicles dating from 1920 to modern day, varying in makes and models.
The run travels from Canterbury Garden Centre through the Kent countryside before the final destination at Ramsgate.
ROMMCC was formed in about 1981 by a group of old vehicle enthusiasts based in Ramsgate who organised the original “Great Bucket & Spade Run” This started at Blackheath (South London) and finished at Ramsgate.
The annual event has had a number of different starting points over the years due to increased traffic and new motorways.

i travelled over for a look around , i was dissapointed from how it was years ago , the cars used to stretch from the paragon to the boating pool , now there was just a few dozen on the government acre and 4/5 motorcycles ? i wonder why this is ?
Perhaps not organising on the same day as London to Brighton
