Patients at Mydentist branches in Westgate and Margate have been informed of a proposed merger and relocation to Westwood.
The dental practice says it will move to a “new, modern site” at Broadstairs Retail Park – where store such as the Range and Currys are located.
A letter to patients says: “The new practice will be designed to better meet the needs of our patients and the wider community.
“We anticipate that this move will allow us to offer an improved patient experience, through upgraded facilities, increased appointment availability, and enhanced accessibility.”
Mydentist says benefits include:
- Extended opening hours: More flexible appointment times, including evenings and weekends.
- Convenient parking: 1,180 parking spaces, shared with Wickes, The Range, Currys and Elev8.
- Public Transport links.
- Increased patient capacity: The current premises have reached full capacity.
- Comprehensive care: A full range of NHS and private treatments
- State-of-the-art facilities: The new practice features modern surgeries equipped with the latest technology to support high-quality care.
- Ground floor access: All surgeries are located at ground level for easier access and are fully accessible for wheelchair users and patients with disabilities.
The dental business is carrying out a consultation with patients.
MyDentist operates approximately 600 dental practices across the UK and has been owned by Palamon Capital Partners since 2021
Its always bloody Westwood.
I have not had a communication from my practice in Westgate. I do not drive, am unable to access public transport, and have to rely on my mobility scooter to gey out and about. I will not be able to get to Westwood Cross.

It’s a good job it’s near Range and Currys because when I’m rolling around in agony with toothache my top priority after seeing a dentist has always been to order a new TV or a deck chair.
Hopefully much better than the Margate surgery. All at floor level instead of climbing stairs. We have had no info about it though.
Westgate is already over run with the worst dentistry care ever. I found them to be the most hostile, disorganised company.
Either wwx improves the standard or all the people in Westgate are further neglected by already poor care
