The body of a man has sadly been found at St Mildred’s Bay in Westgate.
Kent Police officers were called at 7.49pm last night (May 29) and attended the scene along with Kent Fire and Rescue Service and HM Coastguard Margate.
A Kent Police spokesperson said: “Kent Police was called at 7.49pm on Thursday 29 May to a report of a body in the sea near St Mildred’s Bay, Westgate-On-Sea.
“Officers attended the scene alongside the Kent Fire and Rescue Service and (HM Coastguard Margate), where the body of a man was recovered.
“Enquiries are underway to identify the deceased. The death is not being treated as suspicious at this stage and a report will be completed for the coroner.”
