A man has been taken to hospital following a crash in Margate today (May 14).
Police and paramedics were called to a collision between a car and a mobility scooter in Dane Valley Road at 2pm.
A Kent Police spokesperson said: “Kent Police was called to a report of a collision involving a mobility scooter and a car in Dane Valley Road, Margate at 2pm on Wednesday 14 May.
“Emergency services attended and a man was taken to hospital with injuries which are not life-threatening.”

I was nearly hit by a car last Saturday when out on my mobility scooter, and crosseing a road with a traffic island in it. The traffic lights were Red so I started to cross, and when I got to the traffic island the lights turned to Orange, but it was too late to stop, so I continued to cross. But a car that had stopped when the light was Red decided to go, just as I was in front of it! As the traffic light was Orange, I had the right of way, but the driver of the car that started to go gave me a mouthful of abuse! It probably took me half a second to finish crossing the road, so why was the car driver so angry? Had he the right to start driving when the traffic lights were Orange, and I was still crossing the road?
