St Laurence CE Junior Academy recently came together to celebrate Children in Need, raising an impressive £100 for the charity. The event provided a fantastic opportunity for pupils to learn about the importance of helping others while having fun and showing kindness.
Children in Need supports vital projects across the UK, offering assistance to children and young people facing challenges such as poverty, illness, and bereavement. By participating in this national initiative, pupils at St Laurence CE Junior Academy were encouraged to think about how small acts of generosity can make a big difference in the lives of others.
As part of the celebrations, the school also embraced Odd Socks Day to mark the start of Anti-Bullying Week. Pupils proudly wore mismatched socks to promote the message of individuality and acceptance, highlighting the importance of celebrating everyone’s unique qualities.
Later this term, the academy plans to hold workshops focusing on kindness, empathy, and standing up against bullying. These sessions aim to further strengthen pupils’ understanding of the importance of respect and compassion, helping them to develop into thoughtful and caring individuals.
