Emergency services have attended a two car crash in Broadstairs today (September 25).
Two fire engines. Police and paramedics were called to the incident at the roundabout at Dane Court Road and Westwood Road at just after 11am.
One man was taken to hospital.
A Kent Police spokesperson said: “Kent Police was called at 11.04am to a report of a collision involving two cars in Broadstairs, at the roundabout where Broadstairs Road meets Westwood Road, Dane Court Road and Vicarage Street.
“Officers attended along with SECAmb and a man was taken to hospital after injuries were reported. The road was clear at around 12.30pm.”
A Kent Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson added: “Two fire engines attended and assisted Kent Police and SECAmb.”
Fire crews finished at the scene at 12.15pm.
A SECAmb spokesperson said: “SECAmb were called shortly after 11am to reports of a collision involving two vehicles on the Broadstairs Road. Crews assessed and treated one male patient at the scene before taking him to the QEQM hospital in Margate for further medical care.”

Nearly 2 more people taken to hospital when the fire engine racing towards the scene came hurtling towards us in the middle of the road, giving us no room to move, barely giving us time to get out of the way!! Safe driving applies to all, regardless of emergencies!

They don’t have seconds to waste just because people can’t drive with some attention to the surroundings, but maybe next time they will stop and let you through!
Scott, you said it for me! Any competent motorist will spot and hear blues and twos a mile away and take appropriate action. Ie., get out of the way!

I agree too Ray, With the influx of the DFL and more housing being built in that aera for them, they race ‘flat out’ like they would in London to the next roundabout to only sit in the traffic again.
They need to realise this is not London and our system of roads weren’t built for that.
Have you ever been to London or is it just ‘a big city where bad things happen’ to you? Speeding isn’t a thing it has been gridlocked for years. Sounds like a small town mentality to me. People in Thanet drive appallingly and I speak as a pedestrian and car passenger, indicators are obviously too difficult for most.

gridlocked for years? Every time I’ve driven in London it’s been madness, flat out from one set of traffic lights to the next set that are red and then trying to squeeze into any available place that they can get into.
I loved my small town by the sea and maybe you are right with my small town mentality that’s why I loved it so much – Now its pretty much tainted with the fast inconsiderate DFL driver and the endless accidents around these days, more housing more DFL it is only to get worse unfortunately :(
So you, as a car passenger, just pass the responsibility over to your driver, but still think fit to criticise.
“Flat out like they would in London”? You’ve got to be kidding! I lived in London for over 40 years and I can assure you that “flat out” is not how most drivers in London drive.
Yeah for sure “flat out” for 500 meters then sit at the lights ready to speed off yet again for the next 500, they all do it, as well you know – 40 years in that hell hole? unlucky M.M. lol

I enjoyed living in London very much. It’s not a “hell hole”. I have never owned a car and I can’t drive, so I am well aware of the way drivers use the roads.
There is a clue. ROUNDabout. Designed to enable traffic to flow. Traffic lights to halt flow and permit other directions to move. They are NOT straight across. In particular this junction has TWO lanes. One for traffic turning right and the other for moving ahead or turning left.On approach to a roundabout the driver should be looking at the other approaching traffic and in a gear to enable them to merge safely. This has nothing to do with London drivers it is about awareness. Roundabouts in general do not have a solid(stop) marking.. They are give way.

Drivers approach the roundabout to fast they only look right and don’t slow down forgetting the cars from the left could be halfway accross.
Many have no idea how to use roundabouts properly, they stop when it’s a giveaway, approach at reduced speed if nothings coming keep moving.
