Fire crews have attended another field blaze in Thanet today (September 18).
Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called at 2.22pm to reports of a fire in a field of cut corn next to St Peter’s footpath in Broadstairs.
Six fire engines attended and crews used hose reel jets and wildfire equipment to extinguish the flames.
Crews finished at the scene at 3pm.
There were no reported injuries and the cause is not yet known.
KFRS has recently attended field fires in Ramsgate and Manston.
So there’s a little arsonist about that area who likes to set fire to fields!
Clearly a kid with a need for flames.
Have we another arsonist in thanet 3or4 field fires in closest proximity to each 10 minutes brisk walk apart for a fit walker? The first I thought we had a fire downstairs as smoke smell was so strong being the early hours of the morning was a bit scary. One thing for sure the first one is very suspicious to. Y thinking. And now if someone is fire lighting there getting very brave and perfect conditions today windy but not to windy for time for someo6to get away. And no not me I’ve a cast iron alibi for all of them.
Are the fields owners the same person/farmer possible vendetta plus in the to distance in past the stubble used to be burnt of nowadays I believe they dig it back in. I know a farmer owns/farms a lot of land in thanet not know exactly what fields hence wonder if they are owned by one farmer.
Cut corn? does that mean the cobs have been harvested? Does the soil good and saves clearing the field – I remember farmers doing just that years ago.
