Armed officers arrest four men

Four men were arrested by armed police on Margate sands yesterday (September 12).

Stunned bystanders watched as armed officers and a police dog handler chased the suspects across the beach after a report that the group had been spotted in the High Street with one in possession of a weapon.

Police were called to the incident at 5.50pm and arrested the four men, all aged 19, on suspicion of possessing a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.

An imitation firearm was recovered and the men remain in custody.

A Kent Police spokesperson said: “Kent Police was called at around 5.50pm on Thursday 12 September to a report that a man walking with others in High Street, Margate, had been seen in possession of a possible weapon.

“Officers assisted by armed patrols attended and arrested four men, all aged 19, in the Marine Drive area on suspicion of possessing a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.

“An imitation firearm was recovered shortly afterwards and the men remain in custody pending further enquiries.”

  1. Probably some of Scumbag Starmer’s early jail releases, to make room for the drunk 55 year old, female Facebook posts, that four people saw before they sobered up & deleted it.

    • You’re risking jail by posting this. Freedom of speech is only for Labour. You can not post comments when friends of Karl Marx have spoken. Pity for our winter fuel allowance…

  2. It is rather hysterical our law now.Two stoned motorway drivers stop by the police for erractic driving.Turns out they had £400,000 pounds of drugs in the car boot.Got 12 months in prisonwith the expectation of serving 6 months and released just before 3 months.Crime doesnt pay!!!! Then you read of P.O. workers getting 18months for such smaller sums.Britain has lost the plot.

    • Neither is true Anon and ‘far right’ is often a framed propaganda term used by free speech deniers to shut down debate. And locking down the country, encouraged by many of the so called left, was probably the most far right thing many have ever experienced and caused enormous destruction. Tony Benn would be tagged far right nowadays for telling too many inconvenient truths. It’s a clown world!

      • Don’t be so naive, “Democrat”. it’s easy to see who’s far right and who is and how do you stop a population from being infected, other than from preventing them from mixing together?n’t.

      • Oh do shut up peddling your cope. The only clown here is you. Who is prostrating themselves for people that don’t even know you exist, let alone care you’re being a useful idiot for them.

Calvin Robinson is a far-right commentator and evangelical priest who developed a following largely through his weekly show on GB News, Calvin’s Common Sense Crusade, which often saw him wearing his priest’s cassock on air. Robinson mixes his strict interpretation of Christian morality with an anti-immigrant and conspiratorial outlook that has become increasingly extreme over time, such as repeatedly calling for an end to non-Christian migration to the UK.”

  4. A lot of hysterical nonsense comments spouted forth after an image of police on the beach arresting teenagers with a fake gun. You will have to get used to this now.

The prisons are filling up with protestors whilst hardened criminals are being set free.

  5. And, wow, we were in Margate yesterday afternoon and it was full of people having a quiet drink/eat along the Drive and in the old town. Walked home across the beach at around 4pm. This is not at at typical of an Autumnal Saturday in Margate. Quite the opposite in fact
