GCSE results 2024: Praise for Sandwich Tech GCSE students

Sandwich Technology School students have been praised for their GCSE results, with the headteacher saying it is a reflection of the hard work, dedication and resilience that each individual has shown.

Headteacher Tracey Savage said: “I am proud of our students’ achievements and confident that they are well-prepared for their future. Thank you to the staff for their unwavering support. This year group has faced more disruption than any other, as the pandemic and lockdowns came into force as they started secondary school.”

Abigal-Ann Beckett, with her dad, achieved nine GCSEs at Grade 6 and above.

Several subject areas had improved grades compared to 2023.

Deputy Headteacher Simon Sharples said: “We look forward to working with those students who are continuing with us in September and building further on their positive approach to their studies. We were especially pleased with grades in creative subjects which were significantly above the national average.”

Iris Baldwin achieved three GCSEs at Grade 8 and a further six at Grades 5-7

Outstanding individual performances:

  • Arseniy Dadasov achieved eight GCSEs in the top bracket of 7-9.
  • Kristupas Keturauskas secured five GCSEs at 7 and above.
  • Abigal-Ann Beckett achieved nine GCSEs at Grade 6 and above.
  • Iris Baldwin achieved three GCSEs at Grade 8 and a further six at Grades 5-7.
  • Karina Sobolewska achieved a Grade 8, two Grade 7s and a further seven GCSEs at Grades 5 or 6.
  • .Meghan Bice achieved a Grade 9 in English Language and a further eight GCSEs at Grade 5 and above
  • Cody White achieved four GCSEs at Grade 7 and a further five at Grade 5 or higher.
  • Archie Tasker secured a Grade 7 or higher in five of his subjects with a further three at Grade 6.

Head of Year 11 last year Lee Fairbrother added: “I’ve been really impressed by the commitment and resilience that they have shown to their education and to achieving the results they need for their next steps.

“All the staff here wish them all the very best for the future.”
