An 18-year-old man was arrested last night (August 20) following reports of a person seen with a gun in Ramsgate.
Police, including armed officers, were called to the King Street area and the police helicopter was also used in the search. Officers also followed up enquiries in George Street where an imitation firearm was seized.
A man remains in custody while police continue investigations
A Kent Police spokesperson said: “Kent Police was called to King Street in Ramsgate at 9.41pm on Tuesday 20 August following a report of a man seen holding a suspected firearm.
“Officers, including armed officers, attended the area and following enquiries in George Street, seized an imitation firearm.
“An 18-year-old man from Ramsgate was arrested in connection with the incident and currently remains in custody while the investigation continues.”
its like dodge city in ramsgate nowadays , and they have the front to promote it as a holiday resort , complimentary stab vest provided ?

If Dodge City has a lot of people with guns who go around town shooting lots of other people- then no, it isn’t. What is the point of making untrue and absurd comments, “real world”? They are certainly not amusing.
But it is yet another incident that’s occured in King Street an area of ongoing antisocial / criminal behaviour. A prome example of how an area should’nt be allowed to develop.
I don’t think you have any understanding of the real world in general, and Ramsgate in particular.

It was an imitation gun, so we’re hardly in the Bronx. I felt a bit of trepidation when the helicopter was circling above my house for half an hour at 10.30pm but I don’t feel scared walking the streets knowing it was a clown waving plastic around.
These lads who live in a fantasy world thinking they are hard would be gangsters are putting their lives on the line by waiving an imitation gun around only last week in Surrey a man in his 20s was carrying a make believe gun and he was shot and died in hospital two days later.
Bill- The kid probably doesn’t have much going on in his life and thinks the notoriety of being shot dead would be worth it.
I saw that story. He lived within 2 miles of Bisley, so had probably been out playing at the ranges. The moral of his story is when armed police come to your door, don’t answer it carrying an air-rifle
As soon as I saw the word “Ramsgate” I knew it would be about violent criminals.

Most trees would have to be pretty young for anyone to be able to hug them. What has liking trees got to do with having a general opinion about Ramsgate?
i heard the helicopter , firstly i thought it was the medical team going to QMQM , but when i heard that it was a man with a fake gun , it made me worry for any young person etc walking around in the town , at any time.
I can see curfews coming in , in the near future.
Gone are the days when kids were brought up with respect and morales , now they have no idea what the worth of anything is worth , and the don’t know how precious family and the value of human life.
Wake up parents the way you treat and talk to your children ,shapes how their personalities mature.
Stop shouting , get of the ipad etc , and make quality time for your children , as they are the most precious person you will ever have.
Guns are a tool, people can use them however they want. You can ban guns, you can ban knives. What’s next, banning rocks? The issue of misuse is with people. People need to behave. Full stop.
