Motorcyclist taken to hospital following collision at Westwood

A motorcyclist has been taken to hospital following a crash at Westwood today (August 16).

Emergency services were called to Margate Road, opposite Canterbury Belle, to a collision between a car and a mortorbike at 10.18am.

The motorcyclist was taken to hospital by South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb).

The road was blocked while emergency services were in attendance. It was cleared by 11.30am.

A Kent Police spokesperson said: “Kent Police was called to a collision between a motorbike and a car at Westwood at 10.18am.

“Officers attended along with South East Coast Ambulance Service and the motorcyclist was taken to hospital.

“The road was blocked while the incident was responded to and was cleared by 11.30am.”

A SECAmb spokesperson added: “SECAmb were called at approx. 10:20am this morning to reports of a collision involving a vehicle and a motorbike on Canterbury Road in Broadstairs.

“Crews assessed and treated one person at the scene before taking them to the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford for further medical treatment.”
