Four fire engines called to Ramsgate shed blaze

Four fire engines were called to a shed blaze in Ramsgate today (August 14).

Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to Helvellyn Avenue at 11.50am.

Nearby residents have reported thick, black plumes of smoke coming from the property.

A KFRS spokesperson said: “Kent Fire and Rescue Service (tackled) a shed fire at a property in Helvellyn Avenue, Ramsgate.

“Four fire engines attended and crews, wearing breathing apparatus, are using hose reel and main jets to extinguish the flames that had spread to two other neighbouring sheds and a summer house.”

Crews finished at the scene at 2.21pm.

There were no reported injuries and the cause is not yet known.
