The road between Upstreet and Birchington Square has been shut following a collision between a car and a double-decker bus near Sarre today (August 9).
Kent Police was called just before 12.20pm to the collision on the A28 Island Road, near Sarre.
Officers remain at the scene alongside South East Coast Ambulance Service and Kent Fire and Rescue Service.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service has three fire engines in attendance and the air ambulance is also at the scene.
The road is closed between Upstreet and Birchington Square. Officers are asking motorists to avoid the area of Canterbury Road in Sarre while emergency services tend to the incident.
Update at 3.40pm:
Kent Fire and Rescue Service’s presence at the scene of a collision in Canterbury Road, Sarre, near Birchington, has been reduced to one fire engine.
