Yesterday (July 28), the vibrant celebration took place at The Oval Bandstand in Cliftonville, where attendees enjoyed an afternoon filled with dancing, singing, and community spirit under the glorious sunshine. The event, organised by local not-for-profit group GRASS Cliftonville CIC, aimed to foster connections and raise money for two local charities: Oasis Domestic Abuse Service and Mama to Mama.

Oasis Domestic Abuse Service is dedicated to supporting victims of domestic violence, while Mama to Mama provides essential pre-loved items to vulnerable pregnant women, caregivers, and children under five living in poverty.

In addition to the charity dance, the event featured a fantastic lineup of Kate Bush-themed entertainment. Highlights included a live band, a DJ, a fun dance competition with great prizes and more.

Simon Bell, from GRASS Cliftonville CIC, said: “Our goal was to gather at least 200 enthusiastic dancers to embody the spirit of Kate Bush and support these incredible causes. “We are thrilled to announce that with the participation of over 300 dancers, we raised an incredible £2,108. This amount will be shared between the two fantastic local charities, ensuring that everyone’s involvement made a meaningful impact.”

Special thanks to The Kate Bush Experience for their live music, Debs from Midlife Movers for her amazing training video and leading the dance, Bridgette Aphrodite for her exceptional hosting, our fabulous technical crew, staff and volunteers. And, of course, a huge thank you to all the participants who made the event such a huge success. Kate is without doubt incredibly proud of you all! We can’t wait for the next event on Sunday 27th July, 2025″

The inspiration for “The Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever!” came from “The Ultimate Kate Bush Experience” by the British theatrical group Shambush and Samantha Wareing. With their permission, GRASS Cliftonville CIC brought the celebration to Margate.
