Road reopened following three-vehicle crash in Birchington

A road in Birchington was shut following a three-vehicle collision this morning (July 5).

The crash happened on Canterbury Road, near the junction with Seamark Road, at 6.45am.

Police and South East Coast Ambulance service attended.

The road reopened just before 9am.

A Kent Police spokesperson said: “Kent Police was called to a report of a three-vehicle collision on the A28 Canterbury Road, Birchington near the junction with Seamark Road at 6.45am on Friday 5 July.

“Officers attended and the road was closed while the incident was responded to. It reopened shortly before 9am.”

A SECAmb spokesperson said: “SECAmb were called at approximately 6:45am this morning to reports of a traffic collision on the Canterbury Road in Birchington.

“Crews assessed and treated two people at the scene, before taking one of them to the William Harvey Hospital for further medical treatment and discharging one from our care at the scene.”
