Man remanded in custody following serious assault in Ramsgate

A man has appeared in court charged with carrying out a serious assault in Ramsgate.

Kent Police officers were called to Hurst Grove shortly after 7am on Sunday 3 March following a report that a man had suffered injuries including a suspected stab wound.

Officers attended and the man was taken to hospital. He has since been discharged.

Detectives have since arrested four men and two women in connection with the incident and enquiries to establish the full circumstances are ongoing.

Armed police were involved in some of those arrests which took place in Grange Road on Sunday evening.

Danny Gray, of Gordon Road, Margate, has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of a bladed article.

The 29-year-old appeared before Folkestone Magistrates’ Court today (March 6) and was remanded in custody to appear at Canterbury Crown Court on Monday 8 April.

Five other people arrested in connection with the incident have all been bailed pending further enquiries.
