Margate FC match against Cray Wanderers abandoned after player suffers serious head injury

Margate FC’s match against Cray Wanderers yesterday (December 26) was abandoned in the final minutes after a player suffered a serious head injury.

Cray Wanderers player Yahaya Bamba was injured in the closing minutes of the game which was abandoned in the 92nd minute at Hayes Lane.

Bamba when down after colliding accidently with ‘Gate goalkeeper Harry Seaden and an ambulance was called for the safety of the player.

The club says: “Everyone at Margate sends their best wishes to Yahaya and we hope to hear some positive news from Cray regarding his recovery.

“We await further conversation with the Isthmian League on Wednesday to determine the final outcome of the game.”

The match was 0-0 at the time of abandonment.
