BBC antiques expert David Harper cuts ribbon for opening of Pearson House in Broadstairs

David Harper cuts the ribbon to officially open Pearson House

BBC antiques expert David Harper has officially opened a new retirement living development in Broadstairs.

David, from Antiques Road Trip and Bargain Hunt, took the lead in the celebrations at McCarthy Stone’s Pearson House in Trotwood Close with a ceremonial ribbon-cutting, before meeting with homeowners and giving a talk about his career on TV.

Guests at the event spent time with David in the communal lounge with a glass of fizz and canapes, before embarking on a guided tour of the superb communal facilities within the community.

David said: “I was delighted to be invited to Pearson House for the grand opening. It was so wonderful to meet with all the new homeowners and their guests, and an absolute joy to be a part of the celebrations here in Broadstairs.”

Sam Burley, Divisional Sales Director at McCarthy Stone, added: “The opening was a fantastic occasion and our guests thoroughly enjoyed meeting David and hearing all about his career. On behalf of the team and our homeowners, we’d like to say a huge thank you to David for making it such a memorable experience.”

Pearson House consists of 51 one and two-bedroom apartments designed for people over 60. There is also a range of communal facilities on site, including a lounge and landscaped gardens. A 24-hour emergency call system and door video entry are included and a House Manager is on site during office hours.
