Strokes Adventure Golf in Westbrook was the venue for the British Mini-golf Championships last weekend.
Competitors took to the course in a bid to clinch titles in the male, female, senior and youth categories.
The eventual winner of the seven round tournament (men’s) was Mark Chapman, from Canterbury. Mark is a three time World Crazy Golf Champion and a member of the Strokes minigolf club. He finished 36 under par with an average round of 30.6, meaning that he aced at least 5 hole in ones, each round.
Ruth Burke from Birmingham, took the British Women’s title finishing winning by one stroke, 15 over par. Martin Greenhead, also from Strokes Mini-golf club, took the British Senior title with 5 under par.
Richard Jones, from Welsh Mini-golf club, took the Super Senior title shooting 11 under par. Elena Teubler representing Thanet Silverbacks, achieved gold in the Junior British title, with 12 over par during the first 4 rounds on Saturday.
Overall, 50 minigolf players from all over the UK participated. The British Mini-golf Association thanked hosts Matt and Lexi Wood, for the use of their Margate venue which has regularly supported the tour since 2006.
