
A Westgate man has been charged with robbery, shoplifting and theft offences following an investigation by the Thanet Victim-Based Crime Team.
Chris Bygraves, 35, of Roxburgh Road, is charged with two counts of stealing alcohol from a shop in Westgate on 28 September and 2 October.
He is also charged with a public order offence, threatening a man with an offensive weapon – a pocket knife – and harassment at the same shop on 28 September.
Further charges were authorised, including robbery following an incident on 2 October in which two bottles of wine were reported stolen from the shop. On the same date he is also accused of vehicle interference, theft of a headtorch from a vehicle, and assaulting an emergency worker.
He remains in custody to appear at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court today (October 4).
