A Margate bed and breakfast hotel is to be auctioned this month with a guide price of £450,000-plus.
Four-storey Somerville Hotel at 9 Canterbury Road is among 178 lots listed by Clive Emson Auctioneers in the September auction.
Jon Rimmer, auction appraiser, said: “This end-terrace freehold property, located on the corner of Station Road and Canterbury Road, has been run as a successful B&B for many years but may have potential for conversion, subject to all necessary consents being obtainable.
“There are uninterrupted sea views from the front of the building which has eight guest bedrooms and a one-bedroom manager’s accommodation.”
Joint auctioneers are Christie & Co. The auction ends on Wednesday, 20 September, with live bidding starting 48 hours before.
That actually comes under Westbrook.
Surprised Christie are involved in this, always thought they were high-end.
It has a lot of sales potential.
The basement restaurant used to be open to the public (went there once, not bad at all).
That’d make a brilliant house for a local family with lots of kids!
Make an even better B&B! Not many left for visitors now.
