Man suffers serious injuries after being hit by car in Cliftonville

Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious collision in Cliftonville.

At around 9.40pm on Friday (July 21), a bronze- coloured Honda Civic car was being driven down Northumberland Avenue when it hit a pedestrian.

The pedestrian suffered serious injuries which resulted in the man being taken to a London Hospital.

A 38-year-old man from Margate was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and being unfit to drive through drink or drugs. He was released on bail pending further enquiries.

Investigating officers would like to thank all those who have spoken to officers already, and are appealing for anyone who assisted at the scene and has yet to speak to police to come forward.
