Kent Fire and Rescue Service is currently at the scene of a fire in a basement flat in Cliftonville.
Two fire engines are in attendance at the blaze in Athelstan Road and crews are using hose reel jets and water from a hydrant to tackle a fire within the kitchen area of the property.
The fire service was called in at 3.15pm and the incident is ongoing.
