The Pie Factory in Margate Old Town plays host to an exhibition of work by students at Dane Court  today (February) from 11am –6pm, and Wednesday March 5 from 11am – 4pm.

The artwork is the culmination of the two year International Baccalaureate visual arts course. Some students will be continuing their education in the visual arts at foundation and degree level – including interior design and architecture, whilst others will be pursing completely different careers, said Dane Court art teacher Jason Pickard.

The event is managed and co-ordinated by David Brooks, Head of Art and Design at Dane Court.

Alisha Holmes, one of the students displaying her work, said: “I have nine pieces of work aspiring to a sense that the viewer can connect with me as an artist, to find out about my personality, whilst creating a sense of nostalgia, which is important when looking at my work. The Chanel, Disney and interior design links all portray myself as a person.”

Pie Factory Gallery is at 5 Broad Street, Margate.
