A Margate teenager is appealing for help to raise enough money to pay for her little sister’s headstone.

Aliya Green, 16, has launched a gofundme appeal in the hope that she can help give her family somewhere to lay flowers and remember baby Adorah Maae who lived for just 60 minutes.

The Crosskeys student says the memorial would be a huge help to mum Melissa and younger sister Erin, nine, who are both grief stricken.

She said: “I found out my mum was pregnant in February. She had a scan in Margate and they said everything was fine but when we went for one in Canterbury we were told lots of things were wrong with her and she would not live.”

“Adorah was born with limited organs, and also had some problems with her brain.

“She was alive for 60 minutes and when I held her for the first time, she was so beautiful and cute.

“She was born in August and mum stayed in hospital with her for three days and she came home in a cold cot for two days.

“We had a funeral in September and have her ashes but just cannot afford a headstone. We just want somewhere we can go and see her. I feel like them having somewhere to visit and just talk to Adorah will comfort them and make them happier.”

Aliya says receptionist Melissa, 33, has baby Adorah’s flowers at home and would desperately like a place to visit and lay them.

All donations will be used for the headstone with any remaining money going to the Children In Need charity.

Aliya said: “I just want to make my mum happier.”

Melissa has registered a star under the name of Adorah Maae Green in memory of her daughter.
