Children can become builders, pirates, medics and more at new role play centre in Ramsgate

Creative role play at Lilliput Road

A role play centre where children can become everything from a pirate to a doctor or an actress has opened in Ramsgate.

Lilliput Road is the first centre of its kind in Thanet and is designed by Early Years Professionals for little ones aged from six months to five-years-old.

The family run centre, based at the former Elms Nursery building at 8 Richmond Road, includes a pirate play gym, gnomes home, supermarket, builders yard, café, medical centre, theatre with a dressing-up room, police station and jail and a play school. While children play, parents can sit and chat or join in with their children.

Children are supervised by their parents or an adult and enjoy and learn through imaginative play. Adult entry is free with a paying child.

Food, snacks and drink -including herbal teas- can be bought in the centre.

Lilliput Road has developed a large party room for up to 30 children. Facilities include nappy changing, child-size toilets and a big loo for the adults.

The centre will be opening a garden play area in the Spring.
