The Thanet RSPCA branch family fun day and dog show is back for its fourth year

The event takes place at St Georges Secondary School, Westwood Road, Broadstairs, on Sunday, August 18 from 11am to 5pm.

Entry is £2 adults, £1 children and toddlers free.

The packed programme includes a fun dog show with classes including cutest puppy, best furry family, best golden oldie, best rescue, prettiest bitch and most handsome dog. Entry per class is £2 with big prizes promised for the winners, and rosettes for 1st, 2nd,3rd. There will be a have a go agility course run by ENVE Canine Services and a timed scurry, with fastest time winning a prize.

Visitors will be able to browse more than 30 craft and animal related stalls, food and drink will be available and there will be arts and crafts, Kent Fire and Rescue Service, inflatables, funfair rides and more.

This year has the addition of classic cars on display for people to see. There will also be princess character meet and greets, face painting and henna tattoos.

Emily Mayer, one of the organisers, said: “We have lots of brilliant raffle prizes including a 20 minute helicopter ride from Manston for 4 people, which is an amazing prize. All the donations raised on the day will go to the local Isle of Thanet RSPCA. We are a pretty much self-funded branch of the RSPCA so every penny really does count.”
