Shotgun and knife seized by police as two arrested for Ramsgate disturbance

Two arrests have been made and a firearm seized after police were called to a disturbance in Ramsgate.

At around 2.30am today (July 26) Kent Police received a report that two men had been seen with an object suspected to be a knife in Harbour Parade.

While at the scene, officers received a second report that one of the men had been seen in a car, holding a suspected firearm.

Officers carried out a search of the area and a 26-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm. A 19-year-old man from Ramsgate was arrested on suspicion of affray.

A shotgun and a knife were recovered from the area.

The two men remain in custody while enquiries are ongoing.

  1. Lock the scum up. There is no defence for carrying a shotgun or knives in Thanet. Prison might no rehabilitate these idiots but the streets are safer for the rest of us while they are banged up.

Thanks to the person who first reported a possible knife being seen and second report of the gun brave citizens of thanet and well done to the police for quick arrests as concerned writes hopefully they will be locked up for some time so our residents can feel safe. Well done everyone involved.
