Ramsgate RNLI has issued a warning about walking the coastline without checking tide times after being called out twice in one week to rescue people stranded at Stone Bay.

On Bank Holiday Monday one adult and two children were recovered and taken ashore by boat and again today (May 10) two adults were picked up and taken back to Broadstairs harbour.

Last year crews were called out to a string of incidents where people had been cut off, including one call out in July to a group of almost 50 people stranded at Botany Bay.

The RNLI is asking people to check tide times, which are published on the facebook page here, and to make sure they are carrying a means of communication.
